Mid-Atlantic Junior National Team,

Congratulations on qualifying to represent the Mid-Atlantic Junior National Ski Team at the 2019 Junior National Championships in Anchorage, Alaska from March 9th -17th.

I will be sending out a lot of important information related to the trip in the coming weeks, please be sure to read all of the e-mails I send fully and complete any attached information and/or links I provide.

All athletes and/or parents must complete the following Google form ASAP. This will gather a great deal of important personal information that will be used to register athletes and also create the contact list to keep athletes and parents up to date on the trip details as they become available.

Google Form : https://goo.gl/forms/ZpzRWOUFOsGHWrB53

If you have any questions pertaining to this Google Form please let me know.

Uniforms: Athletes are required to compete in a minimum of Team Mid-Atlantic tights. Athletes are encouraged to race in a complete Team Mid-Atlantic suit. Athletes also have the option to purchase a Mid-Atlantic Team Jacket but are not required.

Uniforms may be purchased through Podiumwear at the following team store (please see link below). The team store will close on Thursday 2/14. After that, uniforms will not be available for purchase.

You may also ask around, as we have had these suits for a number of years and some may be available from athletes who have been on previous trips.

USSA Membership: All athletes must have a competitive USSA License. Please enter your license on the google form. Athletes who bought a “General” $15 license to race in Lake Placid can upgrade to the “Competitive” License. To do so you need to call USSA as this cannot be done online. https://my.ussa.org/membership/start

NYSSRA License: All athletes must have a NYSSRA License to go on the trip. NYSSRA is our governing body in Mid-Atlantic. If you do not have a NYSSRA membership please get one prior to the trip: https://www.skireg.com/nyssra-nordic-membership-18

Trip Details: I am finalizing the trip cost ASAP. As soon as I have that finalized, I will e-mail athletes and parents. I’m still approximating a trip cost of $2,500 per athletes, plus airfare. This will cover all of the aspects of an athlete’s trip from arrival on Saturday March 9th through Departure March 17th. We will be staying at the Lake Front: https://www.millenniumhotels.com/en/anchorage/the-lakefront-anchorage/

Athletes who plan on arriving on Friday March 8th or earlier will incur an additional nights lodging. Mid-Atlantic XC will not be providing any lodging options prior to Friday March 8th. If an athlete wants to arrive prior to the 8th they will need to figure out lodging and transportation on their own. We are asking athletes to book flights out of Anchorage after 10pm on Saturday, March 16th. The final banquet starts at 6pm on the 16th. We plan on attending that. We will be able to provide transportation to the airport on Saturday for any flight after 10pm. Athletes are also welcome to stay Saturday night and depart Sunday as well.

As final airfare is booked please update the google form to reflect travel details.
